Okay I lied in the title, I am actually writing NINE new books, but this blog is only about three of them. Not Hologram Kebab, not Branch Density or False Vacuum or The Stephanie Glitch or the others, but something else… a new beast.
A trilogy of novellas
set inside Nori Furukawa’s epic universe from Who Built The Humans?
If you’ve read Who Built The Humans? (which is now only £3) you will be familiar with Lax Morales, the enigmatic founder of Virtualism, the belief that we live in a simulation. You will also know that he is far more than that, and is in fact a potent force weaving in and out of some of the strangest events in the Furukawa universe. Lax was there on the day of the Swamphenge crash, he was in Nori’s lecture theatre when he announced the re-creation of the time machine, and he was there when a hole in the sky revealed that the Earth had been stolen through time and space.
So who is Lax Morales, really?
Ex-televangelist, TV psychic, investor in cryogenic technology, founder of Virtualism, UFO enthusiast, supposed alien abductee…
All of these and more.
The Lax you know has had a much longer life than you will have probably noticed in Who Built The Humans? There were some inconsistencies introduced on purpose, foreshadowing this life. Lax is more than human, and because of this, he can live a lot longer than Nori and Brigid…
Indeed when he first meets them, he has come from a time in which they are already dead (or maybe he hasn’t. I’m still redrafting the plot points. Nothing is canon yet).
Lax has lived three lives on Earth, each time looping back to tie a bit more of the conspiracy together, to get a bit closer to liberating our stolen planet.
And why is it stolen?
You will find out in the EARTHLOOP TRIOLOGY.
It’s going to be massive, and mind-bending. It will make WHO BUILT THE HUMANS? look normal by comparison. It will wow you with its ridiculous (but foreshadowed) plot twists.
Because a lot happened before Darlene got to Lax Morales. There is so much left unsaid.
The alien abductions will be solved. The ‘greymen’ will be explained, and the nature of reality itself will be torn apart and pieced back together. Because something unnatural is happening in the skies of Earth, something timeless and evil and intelligent.
It is about to get very, very weird. I am inventing new types of time travel narratives, new tropes. And I am bringing back 1950s style pulp chapters. Short, punchy, and packed with action and exciting ideas, zany characters, and ridiculous locations.
I am researching cave diving. I am reading about real-world time travel possibilities. I am looking into cryogenics and cloning and alien abductions and gravitational lensing and simulation theory. All of it ties together into one ridiculous, satisfying conclusion.
To put it simply, you are not ready. I am so excited that I briefly forgot that I am currently editing THE STEPHANIE GLITCH for a submission (yes, I’m going tradpub for that one, potentially).
THE EARTHLOOP TRILOGY is coming to Kickstarter in the next few weeks.
Tell your friends, tell your pet lizard, tell the shadows in the forest that sometimes sound as if they are talking. And don’t look at the greymen.
No link yet. This is just to build hype. Are you hyped?
