Hello. In this post I’m going to show you how to enter my $20 gift card giveaway. It’s pretty simple, but first, today’s music, and some news.

Who Built The Humans? is now in Waterstones and Barnes&Noble

You can now order my debut sci-fi comedy anthology thing in the proper bookshops all the tiktokers film themselves slinking around in. Right now WBTH is available, WKTH is still gathering support over on crowdfundr. I’m about 65,000 words into it and I’m burrowing my way to a weird conclusion for the collection. It’s all new stuff, with some nods to previous stories for fans who pick up both.

Who Built The Humans? is my debut novelthology of existential science fiction and surreal satire. It’s a lot of fun, some of my readers have read it four times over, and are still finding new, weird angles in the stories.

It was designed to be crystalline, and rewards exploration.

Visit the leaderboard (link below)
Get a referral link
Send it to a friend
Once your friend becomes a subscriber, you will get a confirmation email showing that you’re on the leaderboard. You’ll also get a picture of a horse
Wait, I will announce the winner in a few weeks

Your friend can also join the giveaway by doing steps 1 through 6 themselves.

New subscribers (after 10/06/2024) will get a new welcome email that has a direct link to the leaderboard, which should make things a bit easier.

How it works

Winner will be picked randomly and emailed using the email they signed up to realphillipcarter.substack.com with, so make sure it’s one you open
Depending on your location, gift card will be £20 or $20 value, for Waterstones and Barnes&Noble respectively
If you’re outside territories which have those stores, I will try to sort out a gift card for a comparable bookstore where you are

Big plans

I had all these fancy ideas for ways people could score extra entries, but as this is my first giveaway I wanted to start simple and see how it goes. I had initially planned for the requirement to be 2 subs generated per entrant, but I wanted to make this first one easy to enter.

Rules

You must get your friend to sign up using the referral link, as that’s how Substack knows where their subscription came from. If you just call them on the phone and talk them through it, I won’t see it.
