Phil you know I love your site and your work but wo my ADD meds which none if us with ADHD kids are taking right now since the kids need them more, I can’t really handle all you throw out that is wonderful in a single newsletter. Maybe you could have fiction Friday’s? Poetry Sunday’s? News Monday’s? Something like that? I need short. Not all of us do not yiur ADHD readers do...unless I am worse than they are which could easily be true! You didn’t ask for thus but thought you might be interested. DEKETE upon reading! --jen what was I doing? Oh dammit. I forget. Oh well.? Not bedtime yet.....
I'm always interested to hear what people think, and I know the dynamic between writer and reader can be hard if the writer is writing a lot. I've been told by writing friends I am very prolific, my main issue in marketing is shaving my edges off so new audience members think I am only working on one book at a time. In class, I would lie to my peers about how much I was working on because I noticed a handful of them acted weird around me when they found out I'd written 20,000 words over Christmas. In poetry class I was a poet and nothing more. In fiction class I was an author and nothing more. I was a group of people.
Sometimes I wish I was less creative, because then more humans would understand me. Whilst you've definitely not intended to highlight a deeper issue, your comment has. I'm always trying to refine my output so people can understand me. I'm dressed up as a person.
To me, poetry, comedy, sci-fi, articles, they are all part of the same project. A reader will find the edges of that sculpture that they like, and hold onto those. But somewhere just out of reach, it all connects. Some people know me as a Lego artist, others know me as a comedian, you get the idea.
I was already moving poetry and FF over to Halfplanet anyway, and if you've noticed been posting a bit less often (putting focus into Stephanie and WBTH2). The comedy is now an optional tab, and Halfplanet is where I post writing tips.
To conclude, you're not the first person to be overwhelmed, but I don't know how much sanding down I can do before I lose my edge, if you get me.
Does your ADHD affect how you read individual stories? I've been told WBTH was "ADHD friendly science fiction" but I know it manifests different for everyone.
Well the ADHD prevents me from getting into anything long…And I AM interested in all your selves Abd funrvit intriguing they are all together, it would just be easier for me to read if shorter…WITH all the different stuff in different days. I do get easily overwhelmed Christ, I can’t make tea in the mornings….I hope you took this as an organizational not an artistic comment from me! I remembered what you said about ADHD. I live your work Philip and the more the better!
I get you. My thinking was smaller posts more often would clog people's emails. It's my number one reason for unsubscribing anyway, even to writers I like to talk to. Sometimes two or three emails a week is too much.
And with the fiction, most of my short stories run at the 5000 word mark. I suppose I could split them in two. The timing would be funny. I have thought about this before, I would be posting a lot less content than I actually write, and would be able to schedule posts to go out long after my demise. Lol.

Sorry typos can’t edit!

Philip,

Sorry if that didn’t come through!

Thanks again for the feedback Jennifer :)
