A lot of good stuff happened in the last few weeks. We got past the 400 subscriber mark, I got a really good review on Amazon, and I got a job interview. The interview went well, and I think I’ve found somewhere I will be very happy to work. I find out on Monday if I’m hired.
Anyway, as you know I set this Substack up so I could share free short stories (another of which will be on its way this afternoon).
My first book, Who Built The Humans?, contains 47 short stories, and if I’m honest I wish more people had read them. Therefore,
Who Built The Humans? is free again
(for a limited time only).
Q: When does it begin?
A: Right now. If you’re reading this email, chances are the deal is live.
March 10th 2023, 12:00 am Pacific Standard Time (or 8:00 am UK time)
Q: When does it end?
A: In order to keep everyone in every timezone happy, the deal lasts three days. You can comfortably forget to download it today, remember tomorrow, and still get it with 24 hours to spare.
Ends March 13th 2023, 11:59 pm Pacific Daylight Time
Q: How do I get it?
A: You click on the big orange “WBTH store” button below. From there you can select an Amazon location. You can then click the eBook and get it for $0.00.
No rituals. No sign-ups. Just a free eBook.
I wanted to thank everyone who participated in the last giveaway and those who added a review to Amazon. I keep re-reading the most recent one because of how brilliant it is. It cut right through to the hidden heart of the book and made me remember just how much effort and care I put into structuring the thing. Someone noticed the clever bits under all the jokes and it has given me a lot of energy when writing WBTH2. Reviews keep the story machine awake.
Sometimes I wish I was a Lego man so I could live inside a Lego house and click myself to the ceiling whenever guests I didn’t like came round.
…
Even more stuff.
You’ll remember that last week I shared five digital bookshelves, each containing some discounted sci-fi and fantasy. If you missed those, here they are again.
A fun mix of galaxy-spanning sci-fi and dark and quirky fantasy.
Award-winning short story books.
A handful of sci-fi trilogies. Includes John Coon, a close author friend.
A few more free Sci-Fi books.
Heavily discounted and free Sci-Fi / Fantasy eBooks.
The bit after the end
You can expect a free story about angels to appear in your inbox shortly.
