FFF Aug 30 - Epic Sci-Fi and Fantasy
Today’s a pretty simple one. Military sci-fi, space adventures, cosy fantasy, and some existential dread about time and space and determinism from me.
They’re just below this bit, where I talk about the best cover.
Today’s best cover is…
Oh wow! It’s me! I won!
I’m just kidding, this isn’t one of those arts contests. It’s just a bit of fun. But I am wondering, which cover of mine do you prefer? The exploding nebula, or the spiral of determinism?
I designed the top one first, and I think the bottom one is the most effective. It’s also an easier ‘house style’ to adhere to in the future, when I make other eBooks in the series.
My actual favourite cover from today’s promo, is this.
No link in the image, you’ll have to go through to the main promo (link below) to find it.
This cover is so nice, and not just because of the Amazon warrior woman, but the composition, the tasteful red and white fade that allows for a simple, modern black title. Love it.
It also reminds me of a goth night club, but that’s a story for another time.
FREE SCI-FI AND FANTASY
As I said, today’s a pretty simple one. Military sci-fi, space adventures, cosy fantasy, and some existential dread about time and space and determinism from me in the form of THE CERTAIN UNIVERSE.
But what else is on offer?

Bonus stuff
I decided to pluck THE CERTAIN UNIVERSE from WHO BUILT THE HUMANS? and make it into a permafree story so that more people could see it. Every single story in WBTH was brand new when it came out, because my genuine goal was to create
A ‘best-of’ book for a dead writer who was climbing backwards from death into a new life, to burst onto the scene with a collection so weird that people would want to read it thrice.
And I think I managed that.
Some years later, I want TCU to have a life of its own, and WBTH was a collection of thematically interconnected realities anyway. TCU is the one universe in the book which is comprised of only one story, so it works well as a standalone.
But its ending has a strange link to some of the other stories in the book, if you read the whole collection in the right direction.
But which way is the right direction?
You can figure that out now.
