How could a cloud formation jump through time?
It’s a question you might never think to ask, but when you see the photos in this post, you will all likely have your own theories as to how this happened.
The Arizona Memorial has a time portal.
Pictured, the Arizona Memorial photographed on two different days, two different decades, with the same exact position of clouds.
The following content was posted publicly to the TIME SLIPS - INVESTIGATING THE TIME SLIP PHENOMENON, by Bri Claxton, on 27/08/2024. I have pinched the entire post to show you, so the link to the original is in the following button.
A photo through time.
Two photos, taken decades apart, have identical cloud coverage.
How can this be?
Is it a random chance, captured solely because there are so many humans, with so many cameras, that it was bound to happen eventually?
Or is it proof we live in a simulation, with patterns of the sky repeating across the decades?
Is it a real time-slip, where the photographer took a photo of an important moment in the past, from the exact position the original photographer was in?
Or is it something stranger?
Let’s find out.
The following text is by Bri Claxton. It was posted publicly and I got permission to share it.
Here’s the original text from Bri.
“Ok..here's my little piece of weird...
1980. Our family takes a vacation to Hawaii on a two-week island hopping of the four bigger islands.. I was 15 years old and being a military history buff I really wanted to see Pearl Harbor. We got on the boat ferry that takes us over to the Arizona memorial.. I had a 35 mm camera and took photos of the memorial and the ship. When it was just about time to get back on the ferry and go back to the gift shop area , I stepped out onto the dock to get a picture of the memorial before everyone got in my way..
I stepped back, centered it real quickly, and took the picture..
and didn't think anything of it other than being a nice picture of the memorial. back at the gift shop I bought a flag that was flown over the memorial with the certificate along with a reprint of the newspaper of Honolulu about the attack and a small cassette tape of narration of the attack and a small booklet that came with it with photographs.. as we spent our vacation I lost the first roll of film I took of the memorial and only had about 5 or 6 pictures on the next roll of film of the memorial. When I got my film developed back on the mainland when we got home something strange had occurred at the memorial that I didn't even know happened. The little booklet that I had bought with the cassette tape that showed pictures of the attack .... the last picture in the booklet was the SAME picture that I took of the memorial.
Now wait a minute.. Not only was it the same, it was exactly the same ..it was THE same picture.. how did this happen.. the little booklet in the gift shop with the picture that I had took, was already there BEFORE I took the picture.. then I came along and took the exact same picture in the exact same spot, at the exact same time as before when the picture was taken the first time.... someone took the exact picture I took,. months maybe years before me (who knows) in the exact same spot,. and then I came along at a later time and took the picture again of the exact same thing.. that already happened... What's Happening Here.. is this a skip in time?.. or a repeat in time..? Now you say, they're not exactly the same or the picture was taken and put in the booklet later. The pictures in the booklet are Xerox copies,. you can see the little dots of the Xerox copy mechanism.. as you can see by the flag, the wind was pretty high that day, so the clouds would be moving pretty quickly and changing constantly..
the flag flapping and shading is the same..
The clouds on either side of the memorial are the same..
The angle of the sun and the shadowing is exactly the same..
The picture I took has two film smudges that are artifacts of the film... the film smudges show up in the copy of the little book.
That means This moment In time, happened,.. twice.... now, this being an "official Naval photograph", there should be a negative of this picture in the naval archives..but that doesn't explain how this moment in time happened twice, exactly in the same spot. So,..whats happening here.. ?..what is this place ...?well, this place is a Battlefield.... it's a graveyard... something is happening here....
This is not deja vu...( the sense that it's happened before or you've been here before ..)I didn't feel anything unusual when I took the picture..I just wanted to get a nice picture without everyone in my way..( you can see my brother coming out of the doorway as people were starting to come out to catch the boat back).... this is an actual repeat in time...
....with proof.”

So, what do you think of this strange event?
Is it a random chance, captured solely because there are so many humans, with so many cameras, that it was bound to happen eventually?
Or is it proof we live in a simulation, with patterns of the sky repeating across the decades?
Is it a real time-slip, where the photographer took a photo of an important moment in the past, from the exact position the original photographer was in?
Or is it something stranger?
More time travel
A few weeks ago I released my novella THE COSMONAUT WHO DIED TWICE. It follows cosmonaut Galina Agafonov, whose mission is to rendezvous with an alien spaceship floating between Jupiter and Mars.
The thing is a giant tetrahedron, and seemingly ancient, as it has concentric meteorite wounds streaking its surfaces. It’s definitely alien, and the public don’t know about it yet, because the governments of the world have decided that the revelation would worsen global tensions, destabilise people’s worldviews, and send entire populations into existential panic.
Early reports suggest the alien ship is older than the Human species.
Not even the astronaut’s families know.
One complication; Galina has a young son. She’s allowed to stay with him on base, on the promise he isn’t to be told any important details. Little Viktor’s stoic response to his mother’s upcoming absence is to create a Lego rendition of the mission. Galina takes this with her into space, and she is holding it when they finally make contact with the pyramid.
What happens next changes history.
I’m currently running a promo on this book, hoping to get it up to the top 10 time travel sci-fi books on Amazon. It jumped from 4000 to 300 the other night, and it could jump again if only 15 people got a copy.
For those familiar with my wider work, this story is part of my expanding universe.
Even more time travel, and pigeons
The Mahabharata has what I think is the very first written account of time travel, in the form of King Kakudmi’s adventure to a distant world called Brahmaloka. Upon his return to Earth, he discovered that time on Brahmaloka passed slower than on Earth.
I’ve covered that story in a much older post which is now archived, but I will be polishing it and adding it to my aforementioned auto-mailer shortly, as well as making the longer article a single-download thing somewhere, so it is always available.
The auto mailer is fun, it means you won’t ever miss an article. I can pick one in every ten substack posts and drafts, polish them, make them better, and set them up in a line. The obvious use for this is serialised stories, so I am thinking to include Stephanie’s chapters inside this, with the rule being to only post articles that are relevant to her book (such as stuff about time travel, simulation theory, and reincarnation (it’s a weird book, a lot happens)).
I let substack archive things so this place looks cleaner, so posts from over a year ago get hidden away, unlocked only by paid subscribers. This is a good model for most posts, but articles about time travel in fiction are things I would like to last forever, so that’s where the auto-mailer comes in. That means I can be a bit more relaxed here on substack, post some more comedy and poetry, which is what most people voted for when I launched a poll some weeks ago, and post some standalone short sci-fi stories again, too!
The pigeon part.
Today’s shirt (designed by me, under my Grumblebricks pseudonym) is a pigeon pun inspired by a famous line from the Bhagavad Gita.
Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.
Here’s the shirt, which you can get as a hoodie / mug / sticker as well, in various colours, by clicking the image. I designed it for myself as it’s become a hobby of mine to feed the pigeons in town. They recognise me now.
All shirt sale profits go directly to Halfplanet Press, so I can get to publishing those poetry books and comedy books and sci-fi books I keep talking about. My next expense is paying professional reviewers so I can hopefully brag about them enjoying Who Built The Humans?
And getting ads around the local Waterstones.
Because I might just be on the shelves soon.
Behind the scenes
This is part of a new section about the Paranormal. It isn’t a subletter, but is contained within my main Substack feed and given tags such as “paranormal” and “timeslips” so that you can easily click those tags on the home page, and navigate to all posts tagged under them.
I’ve talked to a psychic researcher friend about setting up our own paranormal podcast… because I didn’t think I had enough plates already spinning.
I wrote a story called Stretch some years ago, about a cloud that drove people insane. This real life paranormal cloud structure has inspired me to bring that back, so watch this space.
Do you believe in this case?
And don’t forget to share this post if you want to let friends know about this weird event. This is one of the stranger time slips I have seen.
