Who really invented Science Fiction?

I wrote this back in 2021, one year after my debut book WHO BUILT THE HUMANS? came out, and as I am currently working on an automated mailing list (Substack has evolved toward social media, and I would really like to be able to deliver stories to you in order, because it will be more fun for you, and I’d be able to serialise the beginnings of new books) I felt this is as good a time as any for my yearly repost of one of my first, and still most popular, articles.

I have hundreds of draft posts on Substack, and I am currently reviewing each of them (alongside published ones) to see which ones deserve saving for new readers who find themselves along the automated mailing list.
